‘To be sorted’ – Reliable journalist responds to fan concerns on WBA centre-back delay
West Brom are closing in on the signing of Wigan defender Cedric Kipre.
Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett reported on Thursday that the Baggies have a broad agreement in place with the cash-strapped Latics.
Wigan were relegated to League One last season, and their administration has seen a number of their players leave on the cheap to help solve those problems.
The Sun journalist Alan Nixon shared that one of Wigan’s proposed new owners were not happy with the fact that the club had accepted an offer for Kipre.
That fee will be around £1million, with the Lancashire Telegraph reporting that Blackburn had also come to an agreement for the 23-year-old.
One Baggies fan had claimed that the new bidders at Wigan could be making the move to the Hawthorns slow down, something Nixon disagreed with.
“No,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Personal terms to be sorted.”
Kipre won’t have been on massive wages at the DW Stadium, and we expect any issues to be ironed out very quickly.
The Baggies have been crying out for a new defender this summer, and Slaven Bilic appears to have found his man.
Wigan need money, and the only way that will happen is through selling their players, unfortunately for them.
With moves for both Shane Duffy and Kris Ajer seemingly going nowhere, fans will be eager to see the Baggies finally seal a switch for a central defender.
Kipre appears to be that man, and he will be announced sooner rather than later.
