Reliable journalist details two more friendlies for West Brom after 1-0 defeat
West Brom started their pre-season friendlies with a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The Baggies finished their week at St George’s Park with the loss, after a Lyle Taylor goal was enough for the win.
Matt Phillips did have a goal disallowed, and Slaven Bilic decided to utilise a number of youngsters such as Rayhaan Tulloch in his squad.
So, what is next for the Albion?
With only 15 days until their Premier League opener, West Brom will need more friendlies to hit peak fitness ahead of the tough test against Leicester.
Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi has detailed the Baggies plans, with two more friendlies organised in the next fortnight.
The first game will be against an unnamed EFL club and will take place at the Albion’s training ground upon their return.
After that, Bilic’s men will travel to take on yet another unnamed side, this time from the Premier League with only two weeks to go.
The Baggies had a good run-out against Forest, but it certainly proved that they need a couple more games minimum before the Premier League.
It is definitely a smart decision to play a top-flight rival as well, and although they are unnamed, it will be a great test and give them a taste of what to expect next season.
There were few complaints earlier from the Forest defeat, but we would expect many more should the Baggies be embarrassed closer to the season.
