‘Pathetic’, ‘Typical’ – Many West Brom fans fume over reported transfer ‘outrage’
West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration at the latest update in the Filip Krovinovic transfer saga.
According to the print edition of Portuguese outlet Record, as cited by Sport Witness, the Croatian’s parent club Benfica are losing patience with the Baggies and may look to sell him to another club.
It is understood that Albion are using the ongoing Coronavirus 19 pandemic as a justification for their repeated low bids for the player, which in turn is irritating the Portuguese club.
And many supporters are seemingly tired of their penny-pinching ways.
There are two sides to this though.
On the one hand, it is always going to frustrate fans when they want a player at their club, the player wants to be at the club, and the only thing standing in the way of it being wrapped up is a quarrel over his asking price.
That being said, much has been made of the fact that West Brom have a fairly limited transfer budget this summer.
The general consensus is that Slaven Bilic will have around £20-30 million to spend on players to bolster his side.
With that in mind, every penny counts, and if the Baggies are serious about making the most of that relatively small war chest then they can’t afford to be chucking money around all over the place.
A Bola recently reported that Albion had agreed to pay a fee of around £9 million for Krovinovic, but if his price has crept any higher than that, it’s understandable that there are some reservations about wrapping up a deal.
