West Brom ace Matheus Pereira sends Insta message to Filip Krovinovic, 25y/o responds
West Brom winger Matheus Pereira has taken to Instagram to send a message to Filip Krovinovic.
The pair both joined Albion on loan last term, but whereas the Brazilian has gone on to make his move to The Hawthorns permanent, his Croatian counterpart is still at the centre of a transfer tussle between the Baggies and parent club Benfica.
The midfielder celebrated his 25th birthday on Saturday, however, and Pereira took to social media to wish him well.
Writing on his personal Instagram, translated from Portuguese, he said: “Today is a special day for you my brother, the day that God chose to be born.
“Literally me and those around you just have to thank God for being that amazing and special person for all of us brother!
“The greatest happiness in the world because you deserve brother! Enjoy your day brother!
“We’re together”.
Krovinovic then responded: “Aiii… I will write in English so our dear fans can understand us.
“So… my big brother, my best friend… thank you very much on this beautiful words!
“Love you a lot”.
Anybody whose heart isn’t warmed by this needs to take a good hard look at themselves.
Pereira and Krovinovic are clearly the best of mates, and it is wonderful that they were able to strike up such a strong connection at The Hawthorns.
It also speaks volumes as to how the Croatian settled in England, and the fact that he is referring to the Albion support as “our fans” surely shows that he feels a close affinity with the club.
For that reason alone it would be brilliant to see him back in a Baggies shirt next season, but negotiations between Slaven Bilic’s men and Benfica have been far form plain sailing, much to the frustration of many supporters.
Hopefully we get some kind of resolution to this soon, because it’s clear that Krovinovic belongs at West Brom.
In other West Brom news, Kaveh Solhekol has said how many new signings Bilic wants to make before the season kicks off next month.
