Coventry make approach for West Brom midfielder desperate for minutes – report

West Brom have told a number of players that they can leave the Hawthorns this summer.

Slaven Bilic has been informed that he will need to sell players in order to help bring in fresh faces for the Premier League season.

Jonathan Leko has already joined Birmingham, and fellow academy graduate Sam Field could be about to join him out of the Baggies.

Coventry Live have reported that the Championship side have made an approach for the 22-year-old recently.

It is suggested that Field is desperate for playing time next season, and the newly-promoted side could give him just that under Mark Robins.

Field has been informed by the Albion that it won’t be possible for him to achieve those minutes at the Hawthorns, making his exit more likely.

Coventry appear to have made the first move in order to win the race for Field.

There are a number of clubs reportedly interested, with Queens Park Rangers, Huddersfield and Barnsley also contemplating a switch.

The 22-year-old appears to have made the decision to finally leave the Hawthorns, despite being tipped for great things after breaking through in the 2015/16 season.

It hasn’t quite materialised that way though, and that was made clear when Bilic sanctioned his loan exit to Charlton last season that ended in relegation.

Whether Coventry’s approach is successful or not, we still expect Field to be moving on during this transfer window.
