West Brom are finally closing in on bringing Filip Krovinovic back to the Hawthorns for next season.
The Croatian playmaker could eventually be set to be announced less than two weeks before the Premier League returns.
Despite Benfica, West Brom and Krovinovic himself all being eager to complete a deal, it appears to have dragged along.
The Express and Star have finally reported that the Baggies are finally making progress over the deal for the 24-year-old.
It is reported that another loan deal is possible with an option-to-buy, or a straight permanent switch could happen.
While it is only described as “edging closer” to a deal, it can only be positive given all the potential hiccups that could have struck in negotiations.
The Baggies were reported to have used the COVID-19 pandemic as a reason to get the price down, something Benfica weren’t happy with but also something that is in the past thankfully.
With Grady Diangana and Callum Robinson back at their parent clubs, only Matheus Pereira will be with the Albion this season from previous loanees.
Now that the news has broken that Krovinovic is set to follow suit, Baggies fans have expressed their delight at the potential deal.
