West Brom confirm final friendly against Premier League rivals

West Brom have confirmed that they will finish their pre-season friendlies with a trip to Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

The Baggies have already lost 1-0 against Nottingham Forest in a disappointing recent clash at St George’s Park.

Slaven Bilic’s side will come up against Leicester City in their Premier League opener in less than two weeks at the Hawthorns.

West Brom will travel to the south coast for a “behind-closed-doors” friendly at the AMEX Stadium.

This is despite the Seagulls having recently completed a testing event for fans in their 1-1 draw against Chelsea in which 2,500 people were in attendance.

That won’t be happening for the clash with the Albion, with only staff, players and officials set to be present for the game.

West Brom also reported that they will be completing a friendly against an EFL side at their training ground today (Tuesday).

Although there was panic around signings at the Hawthorns after the defeat against Nottingham Forest, these games are for fitness and preparation only.

The Baggies will be without four players for both of these games. Hal Robson-Kanu, Kamil Grosicki, Oliver Burke and Dara O’Shea are away on international duty and therefore are unavailable.

The game with Brighton should give us all a clearer picture of what to expect next season in the Premier League, but we won’t be getting ahead of ourselves either way.
