West Brom to maintain interest in striker despite rejected bid – report
West Brom have gone into overdrive in their transfer business this week.
Not only are they set to complete deals for both Cedric Kipre and David Button, the Baggies also saw a bid accepted for Grady Diangana on Wednesday.
As well as this, it was reported that they had opened talks with Huddersfield Town over the signing of Karlan Grant.
The Telegraph’s John Percy reported on Wednesday that West Brom had even had an offer rejected by the Championship club for the striker.
With many players set to come through the doors at the Hawthorns, all eyes will be set on their next move in regards to Grant and their hunt for a striker.
The Yorkshire Post has claimed that the Baggies are expected to maintain their interest in Grant, which would imply that another bid is set to arrive.
With Charlie Austin, Hal Robson-Kanu and Kenneth Zohore still at the club, it appears that Slaven Bilic is eager to bring in a younger forward.
A number of options have been thrown into the air already, with Watford forward Troy Deeney being mentioned.
The Telegraph reported that the Hornets had offered Deeney to the Baggies on loan next season, but his £65,000-a-week wages could be a struggle.
Grant would be a much younger-quicker option, who would help benefit the likes of Diangana and Matheus Pereira on the counter-attack.
With this latest update, we expect another Baggies bid for Grant sooner rather than later.
