West Brom shake hands on £45,000-a-wk deal with player to kickstart transfer blizzard – report

West Brom are set to seal a blizzard of new signings in the coming days after agreeing a £45,000-a-week deal with Grady Diangana, according to the Express & Star.

The newspaper reports that Diangana, 22, is due to undergo a medical on Friday after personal terms were agreed between the West Ham winger and the Baggies.

It is understood that the England Under-21 international is arriving in a deal which could end up being worth a club-record £18milion fee.

Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett has added that Diangana’s signing a five-year contract but adds that Aston Villa and Fulham are still interested in the attacker.

But, the Express & Star seems fairly confident that Diangana’s arrival will open the floodgates to a number of new arrivals at The Hawthorns ahead of the new Premier League season kicking off in two weeks’ time.

The report adds that in the coming days, defender Cedric Kipre and goalkeeper David Button are expected to sign from Wigan and Brighton respectively.

Furthermore, Portuguese news outlet A Bola has recently reported that midfielder Filip Krovinovic is expected to seal his return to The Hawthorns by the end of this week.

Once the arrivals of Button, Kipre, Krovinovic and Diangana are sorted, it is likely that Slaven Bilic and Luke Dowling will turn their attention towards signing a new striker.

Hal Robson-Kanu, Charlie Austin and Kenneth Zohore remain as Bilic’s striker options going into the new season but fans are worried that none of them are good enough to score the goals needed to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Express & Star has reported that Albion are targeting a loan swoop for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi with the Belgium international deemed as surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge while the Daily Mail has claimed that the Black Country club is in talks to sign Troy Deeney from Dowling’s former club Watford.

West Brom kick off life back in the Premier League when they play Leicester at The Hawthorns on September 13.

If all those signings are sealed, Albion fans will be far more optimistic about the upcoming campaign than they were this time last week.

In other West Brom news, a Chelsea defender has been linked with a loan move to The Hawthorns.
