West Brom completed the signing of centre-back Cedric Kipre from Wigan Athletic on Friday with the defender agreeing a four-year deal at The Hawthorns.

According to the Express & Star, the Baggies have paid around £900,000 to sign the 23-year-old, who was relegated to League One with the Latics last season after they were hit with a 12-point deduction for entering administration.

Albion fans were frustrated with the lack of activity in the transfer market up until Kipre’s arrival on Friday with the ex-Motherwell man being the first new face to arrive at The Hawthorns since the end of last season.

But, based on the reaction of the West Brom Super Fans, it was definitely worth the wait with the powerful defender now a part of Slaven Bilic’s Premier League squad.

Kipre’s arrival does raise some questions about the current centre-backs at The Hawthorns.

Based on him earning more starts last season, Semi Ajayi is likely to be Bilic’s number one choice centre-back but who partners him is up for debate.

Based on what the Super Fans have said, Ahmed Hegazi is either someone who could be sold or chosen to partner Ajayi, which just shows how much the Egypt international divides opinion at The Hawthorns.

Kipre is unproven in the Premier League but needs to be given a chance to show he can perform against some of the best attacking players in the world.

Pre-season training and the early Carabao Cup rounds could help Bilic with his decision.

In other West Brom news, a loan bid has been tabled for this Baggies forward.
