Player might have to choose between West Brom & Leeds after positive talks – report
West Brom have held positive talks with Chelsea and Conor Gallagher’s representatives as they aim to sign the midfielder on loan, according to the Express & Star.
The newspaper reports that the Baggies are “major players” in the race to sign the 20-year-old, who is also wanted at Elland Road by Leeds United.
It is understood that Gallagher might have to choose between West Brom and Leeds on loan before the transfer window closes after he’s penned a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

Gallagher joined Charlton on loan last summer before leaving them in the winter to spend the second half of the Championship campaign on loan at Swansea, who he helped reach the play-offs.
He is very much seen as a box-to-box midfielder, which is a type of player who Slaven Bilic has wanted to add to his squad since Albion won promotion to the Premier League [Sky Sports].
Jake Livermore was often the man to get up and down the pitch last season in the Championship after being moulded from a midfield hardman into a lean, fit athlete by Bilic in his first summer at The Hawthorns.
While Livermore did a great job at that for most of the campaign, the West Brom captain lacks the technical qualities that a player like Gallagher has with the Chelsea midfielder scoring six goals and supplying 11 assists last term at both Charlton and Swansea.
Gallagher can add something new to this Albion side and getting him on loan would be a good piece of business by Bilic and Luke Dowling.
