Reliable journalist: ‘Good chance’ West Brom will complete major transfer on Wednesday

West Brom fans will be delighted to hear that a permanent deal for Sheffield United winger Callum Robinson should be completed on Wednesday.

According to Telegraph journalist John Percy, Robinson took his medical at The Hawthorns on Tuesday.

Now, Joseph Masi, reporter for the Express & Star, has said that the deal, that will see Oliver Burke move in the other direction, should be done today.

He was asked by a fan, “Can you see Robbo being done today?”

Masi replied saying, “I think there is a good chance.”

This was reiterated by Athletic journalist Steve Madeley, who said that the complicated nature of the double deal could cause delays.

Double deal just what West Brom fans want

Baggies fans are very eager to get this deal over the line, not just because it will see Robinson sign on a permanent deal after an impressive second half of the 19/20 season.

They are also keen to see flop Oliver Burke leave on a permanent deal and they got a bit of a shock on Tuesday when it was reported that he would be joining Sheffield United on loan. [Sky Sports]

Madeley moved to ease the fears of any West Brom fans when he said, “Contrary to some reports knocking around yesterday, I understand both transfers will be permanent.”

If that’s true then we think West Brom are definitely getting the best of the double deal if it goes through.

Slaven Bilic is getting a solid squad player who has proved himself at the club and will add strength and depth in the Premier League.

Chris Wilder will be tasked with trying to get something from a player who has flopped at four clubs since signing for RB Leipzig.
