Yorkshire club make West Brom 26-year-old their number one target – journalist
West Brom have entered discussions with Sheffield Wednesday over the loan departure of Kenneth Zohore.
Yorkshire Live have reported that Wednesday see the Dane as a replacement for Stephen Fletcher for the year at Hillsborough.
It is suggested that Garry Monk is a big admirer of Zohore, who is deemed surplus to requirements at the Hawthorns.
Yorkshire Live journalist Dom Howson has taken it one step further after that initial report in a live Q&A on Wednesday evening.
The journalist claimed that Sheffield Wednesday aren’t targeting any other forwards, and Zohore appears to be the number one target.
“I’m not aware of any other strikers at this stage,” he wrote. “Zohore appears to be the number one target right now.”
Sheffield Wednesday started their game against Walsall in the Carabao Cup recently with no strikers on the pitch and two midfielders up front.
Garry Monk has a couple of names available but clearly they aren’t ready or he doesn’t trust them fully, so no wonder Zohore is wanted.
Slaven Bilic will be happy to let the Dane leave after his recent spending spree which was so badly needed to bring in four new faces.
West Brom are hot on the tail of Huddersfield forward Karlan Grant, and getting another forward of their wage bill will help that.
Obviously, everyone will have prepared a permanent exit but this deal could include an obligation-to-buy which will set Wednesday a fee which they have to pay in less than 12 months time.
