West Brom mainstay fires warning at Premier League teams ahead of 20/21 season
West Brom defender Semi Ajayi has fired a warning to Premier League sides ahead of the Baggies return in the 20/21 season.
The Albion kickstart their campaign against high-flying Leicester City at the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon after sealing promotion on the final day only six weeks ago.
Many have predicted West Brom to be one of the three sides relegated back to the Championship this season, although this hasn’t phased Ajayi.
The Nigerian defender has warned other clubs not to underestimate his side, as they could easily spring some surprises in the next year as they look to make a name for themselves.
“We are not here to make up the numbers, we are here to compete and show everyone how good we are,” he told BBC Sport.
“Underestimate us at your peril. We’ve got a good side and hungry individuals who are looking to make a name for themselves at this level, including me.”

Bilic claimed it is great that everyone is backing his side as certain possibilities to finish rock-bottom next season.
The Croatian believes it is the perfect motivation for his team to go out and prove to other people that they were wrong and that survival is more realistic at the Hawthorns.
Prediction expert Nate Silver believes that West Brom stand a 42% chance of being relegated this season – the highest chance, with Leeds second with a 33% chance of the drop.
