Brentford preview claims ‘big money’ West Brom duo unlikely to be involved in clash

West Brom welcome Brentford to the Hawthorns on Tuesday evening in the Carabao Cup third round.

The Baggies will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 5-2 defeat against Everton on Saturday in the Premier League.

Brentford will present tough opposition though, with the Bees taking four points from Slaven Bilic’s men in the Championship last season.

The Londoners have shared a match preview on their website ahead of the clash on Tuesday evening, predicting big changes.

Brentford claim that it will be all change for West Brom, with “big money” duo Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira expected to miss out completely.

“It is expected to be all change for The Baggies tonight as they seek to juggle league and cup priorities,” they wrote on their website.

“Big money summer signings Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana are unlikely to be involved but former Bee David Button will likely start in goal following his summer move from Brighton and Hove Albion.”

Bilic made 10 changes for the 3-0 victory against Harrogate last week, so it would be no surprise to see that happen against Brentford.

Both Diangana and Pereira play vital roles in the Premier League, and both proved their worth against Everton despite defeat.

Diangana scored a superb solo goal, picking up the ball on the half-way line before dribbling to the edge of the box and firing an unstoppable drive into the bottom corner.

Pereira responded by going one better, unleashing the perfect free-kick from more than 25 yards into the top corner to level the scores at 2-2.

Both are vital, and with an important game against Chelsea coming up this weekend, we also expect both to miss the Brentford game.
