‘Madness’, ‘Hate the PL already’ – Some West Brom fans react to update from BBC journalist

West Brom manager Slaven Bilic has been charged with improper conduct by the FA.

This follows his on-field remonstration with Mike Dean at half time of the Baggies’ loss to Everton this weekend, which resulted in Bilic being sent off.

BBC Sport football reporter Simon Stone has stated on Twitter that the West Brom boss has until Thursday to respond to the FA’s charge.

Bilic was complaining to Dean about decisions made in the first half, following Kieran Gibbs being sent off, and VAR getting involved in Everton’s equalising goal.

The Baggies Boss then had to watch the remainder of the game from the stands of Goodison Park, as he saw his side equalise through a stunning Matheus Pereira free-kick, before Everton took advantage of the extra man and won 5-2.

West Brom were very much in the game until Dean showed a red card to Kieran Gibbs, which will have been frustrating for Bilic, as the Baggies failed to pick up any points at the second time of asking this season.

While no one will argue that Gibbs shouldn’t have received his marching orders, Bilic’s dismissal was more controversial.

He wasn’t allowed in the tunnel to speak to Dean, due to the Premier League’s coronavirus guidelines, meaning he had to speak to the referee on the pitch.

Some West Brom fans have criticised Mike Dean, while others have questioned the consistency of the FA applying their punishments, with other managers not being reprimanded for seemingly similar incidents.

Here are how some Baggies fans reacted to Bilic’s charge on social media:

It remains to be seen how Slaven Bilic will be punished, with the manager facing a fine or potentially a touch-line ban.
