‘Careful’ – Filip Krovinovic shares verdict on West Brom start to Premier League season
West Brom finally completed the loan signing of Filip Krovinovic on Tuesday after weeks of negotiations with Benfica.
Slaven Bilic labelled his fellow Croatian as one of his top priorities during this window, and he finally got his man back at the Hawthorns.
Record have reported that West Brom will pay the Portuguese club up to £1.2million across the season, with no obligation to buy at the end of the campaign.
Speaking in an interview on the Baggies website, Krovinovic shared his verdict on Albion’s first three games in the Premier League.
“I watched all three Premier League games and I even wanted to watch the two cup games but I couldn’t find them on the laptop or the television,” he said.
“I was watching, I was with them and I was stressed as if I was playing the game.
“I haven’t spoken to the players too much about the differences between the Championship and the Premier League, but I will be sure to over the next few days.
“You can see the differences. You have to be more careful and smarter.”
The 25-year-old made 43 appearances in the Championship last season and played a big role alongside Matheus Pereira in earning promotion.
Krovinovic admittedly wasn’t as effective as his Brazilian counterpart, although their relationship off the pitch will certainly help them both succeed.
Competition has gone up this season at the Hawthorns though, with Conor Gallagher also arriving on loan and impressing in his debut against Brentford.
There are more chances of Gallagher featuring against Southampton on Sunday, with Krovinovic most likely expecting a place on the bench – meaning he may have to wait for his first experience.
