West Brom agree seven-figure fee for new transfer – report
West Brom have agreed to pay Benfica up to £1.2million to have Filip Krovinovic on loan until the end of the season, according to Record.
The Portuguese newspaper claims that whether or not the Baggies pay that full amount depends on various bonuses.
On Tuesday, West Brom officially announced Krovinovic’s return to The Hawthorns on a season-long deal after months of Slaven Bilic trying to secure a new deal for the Croatian playmaker.
Krovinovic made 43 appearances in all competitions for the Baggies last season as they won promotion to the Premier League and the 25-year-old clearly did a lot to impress Bilic.
The Albion manager has repeatedly expressed his desire to re-sign the former NK Zagreb player. Earlier this month he told the Croatian media that he insists the club does “everything” to strike a deal with Benfica.
Bilic will now be delighted to have Krovinovic back, as will the West Brom squad.
Matheus Pereira struck a great bromance with the Croatian ace last season while they also connected up really well on the pitch too.
Krovinovic adds that extra bit of quality to the midfield and we hope that he can feature regularly over the course of the Premier League campaign to justify the loan fee that has been paid for him.
However, one concern we do have about this deal is that there is no option or obligation to buy Krovinovic permanently next summer.
If he does really well at The Hawthorns and proves his worth in the top-flight then there could be a host of other clubs join the bidding for the Croatian ace.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have been offered the chance to sign this Ligue 1 striker on loan for £6million.
