‘Absolutely buzzing’, ‘Like Christmas morning’ – Many WBA fans react to ‘huge’ confirmed deal

West Brom have announced the signing of Croatian midfielder Filip Krovinovic on a season-long loan deal from Benfica, much to the delight of many supporters.

Krovinovic rejoins the Baggies following a spell at The Hawthorns last season in which he helped Albion gain automatic promotion to the Premier League and endeared himself to both the squad and the club’s fanbase.

He formed what some have called a “bromance” with Matheus Pereira, and it was the winger who was the one to announce that Krovinovic had rejoined the Baggies on West Brom’s Twitter account on Tuesday morning.

Slaven Bilic was keen to bring Krovinovic back to the Hawthorns following his impressive loan spell last season, in which he scored three goals and registered two assists in the Championship.

Bilic initially wanted to bring Krovinovic back on a permanent deal, following similar moves for Grady Diangana, Matheus Pereira and Callum Robinson following their own loan spells last season.

But with the Baggies still trying to use their remaining transfer budget secure the services of a new striker, a loan move was the only way the Croatian could return.

Krovinovic could make his first Premier League appearance for the Baggies when they travel to Southampton this weekend, looking to build on the 3-3 draw with Chelsea last weekend.

The Croatian took a little while to get going during his first season in England, but really hit his stride in the second half of the campaign, and ended up with a higher pass completion rate and total action success rate than his pal Pereira, as per Wyscout.
