Hal Robson-Kanu shares five-word response as Harvey Barnes called up for England
Harvey Barnes has gone from strength-to-strength since his loan spell with West Brom a couple of seasons ago.
The Leicester winger was superb at the Hawthorns and was recalled halfway through the 18/19 season, much to the disappointment of Baggies fans.
That set the winger on his way to the Foxes first-team, and this week he has even been called up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate.
Callum Robinson and Dara O’Shea are two of the only Baggies players to have earned international call-ups, with some of the squad celebrating Barnes’ recognition more.
Hal Robson-Kanu shared his verdict on his personal Twitter account on Thursday evening, admitting his delight for his former teammate.
“You love to see it,” he wrote.
Barnes has started three times this season and has delivered one goal and a single assist for the Foxes.
Impressively, the 22-year-old averages four shots on goal per game according to WhoScored, as well as completing two dribbles.
Compare that to Grady Diangana, another English winger who has seemingly filled the void left by Barnes in the past two years and he is on the right path.
The Baggies star has also scored once and completes the same dribbles in each game despite West Brom having considerably less possession in each outing.
Barnes has the Albion to partly thank for his progression, and we’re hoping Diangana can follow in his footsteps further down the line.
