Slaven Bilic shares if Filip Krovinovic will be involved for West Brom v Southampton
West Brom finally completed a loan move for Filip Krovinovic from Benfica this week after months of discussions since last season.
Many believed that the Croatian playmaker would seal a permanent switch to the Hawthorns after his loan move, but that appears unlikely at this stage.
Krovinovic’s arrival was met with delight by the Albion squad, with the likes of Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana reacting on social media.
So, could Krovinovic feature against Southampton on Sunday?
Slaven Bilic was addressing the media on Friday before the trip to St. Mary’s, and Steve Madeley of the Athletic shared his response.
“Krovinovic seems unlikely to figure after only training for a week,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Krovinovic didn’t have the best of pre-seasons and was forced out of the Benfica first team to train by himself in preparation.
The midfielder was pictured in the gym doing his work alone, mainly running on the treadmill to prepare himself when nursing himself back from an injury.
Looking at the update, if there was a change in system to add an extra man in midfield, it would be Conor Gallagher who comes in.
The Chelsea loanee missed out the 3-3 draw against his parent club last week and will be raring to go in the Premier League after a fortnight away.
Gallagher was superb in his debut in the defeat against Brentford and proved he could offer more of an attacking dynamic in midfield.
The 20-year-old had four shots on goal and completed seven interceptions according to WyScout – proving he can push forward but also defend when needed.
