‘Serious talent’ – Jimmy Shan hails 20y/o West Brom loanee
Former West Brom caretaker manager Jimmy Shan has claimed that young midfielder Finn Azaz is a “serious talent”.
The 20-year-old is currently out on loan with Cheltenham Town, and was awarded the club’s player of the month award for September after a number of eye-catching displays.
He then celebrated that accolade by scoring his first league goal in Town’s clash with Leyton Orient.
And his efforts are not going unnoticed.
Responding to a tweet from Azaz celebrating his award, Shan wrote on his personal account: “Finn Azaz = serious talent!
“A Romaine Sawyers brain!
“Well done Finn, buzzing for you!”

These are kind words from Shan, and on the basis of what we’ve seen from Azaz already this season, they are justified.
The young midfielder has taken to senior football like a duck to water, and his efforts have been justly rewarded over the past couple of days.
A player of the month award is some achievement for a player who only started playing first team football a few weeks ago, and his goal against Orient will have gone down a treat too.
Azaz has started all three of Cheltenham’s league games so far, and it looks as if he is ready for a major role for the club this season.
The hope will be that he can kick on in the same way that Callum Morton did during his own loan spell with Northampton Town last season.
If he can, the Baggies could have another really exciting prospect on their hands.
