‘How on earth?’ – talkSPORT pundit makes West Brom claim after ‘Crazy’ start to season

Former Aston Villa striker Tony Cascarino has tipped West Brom to suffer relegation from the Premier League this season.

Slaven Bilic has failed to see his side win any of their opening four league fixtures this season with the Baggies picking up just one point out of an available 12.

However, Albion have played Leicester, Everton, and Chelsea to kick off their campaign while an away trip to Southampton was no easy task either.

It’s been a tough start to the season for the Black Country side but talkSPORT pundit Cascarino still thinks they will return to the Championship along with Fulham and Crystal Palace.

“How on earth can you predict the outcome of this crazy season? You have Leicester City beating Manchester City 5-2 one week then losing 3-0 to West Ham United the next,” Cascarino said on The Times website.

“I would like to think quality will shine through, though, and that Liverpool and City will still be the teams to beat.

“I do not hold out any hope for West Brom or Fulham but any one of six teams can join them, including Crystal Palace, who I tipped for relegation.”

Let’s face it, we are huge contenders for relegation.

No one likes hearing those from outside their club criticise them but Cascarino is right – we are going to be down there this season.

While we admit that the fixture list has not been favourable in the opening weeks of the new season – and it does improve after the international break – there have been some very worrying signs.

Albion just cannot seem to defend to save their lives and the lack of steel in that midfield is leaving the back-line way too exposed.

West Brom do have until October 16 to sign more new players but with the budget so small, we don’t see much business being done.
