EFL club pressing forward with pursuit of WBA forward, talks to be held this week – report
West Brom still have a number of players they could offload before next week’s second transfer deadline.
Clubs in the EFL and Premier League still have until next Friday (the 16th) to complete deals between each other.
That time will be used by the Baggies to attempt to bring in Huddersfield forward Karlan Grant, as well as offloading players.
Kenneth Zohore is one of those on the chopping block.
Yorkshire Live have claimed that Sheffield Wednesday are still in hot pursuit of the Danish forward in the next week.
Reporting on their website, the outlet report that Garry Monk is set to hold talks with the Albion over the 26-year-old this week.
Slaven Bilic is prepared to let Zohore leave, with a number of Championship clubs remaining interested in this second window.
Zohore needs to leave the Hawthorns, that is the only possible outcome from this interest.
The 26-year-old isn’t going to feature this season, either in the Premier League or in the FA Cup and that is clear.
Charlie Austin could also leave in the next week, clearing two big-money wages to bring in Grant from Huddersfield.
That would leave Slaven Bilic with Callum Robinson, Grant and an injured Hal Robson-Kanu – more than enough for one striking slot.
We expect Zohore to leave this week, opening the door wide to welcome Grant – that would be the perfect end to this window.
