Championship side ‘very reluctant’ to sell striker as WBA linked with move – report
West Brom have been linked with a move to sign Swansea City attacker Andre Ayew on Monday.
The Daily Mail has reported that the Baggies are interested in making a move for the Ghanaian international before Friday’s deadline.
It is suggested that Ayew is “poised” for a return to the Premier League, with Brighton also being linked with a move for the striker.
Sussex Live have shared an update on the Baggies potential pursuit of Ayew, and it doesn’t make for good reading at this moment.
They claim that Swansea are “very reluctant” to get rid of their main attacking option after he spearheaded their charge to the playoffs last season.
Ayew has helped the Welsh side to an unbeaten start in the Championship and has a vast amount of experience in the Premier League.
The 32-year-old scored 21 goals in his 89 appearances for the Swans between 2015 and 2018, before their relegation.
The main target remains Karlan Grant.
West Brom have kept the Huddersfield forward as their number one priority throughout this window, but the clock is ticking quickly.
The Baggies have until Friday to strike a deal, and the longer that takes, the more reports linking them with another forward will continue to appear.
Joseph Masi shared that the Albion had placed a £6million loan offer with an added obligation to buy, before adding that he expects the deal to be done.
