Kyle Edwards sends message to England international after victory v Belgium

West Brom had few players on international duty this week after their poor start to the Premier League season.

Callum Robinson was one of those but had to be stood down from the Republic of Ireland squad due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

Many eyes were on the England squad on Sunday, as they welcomed number one side Belgium to Wembley – finishing with an impressive 2-1 win.

Kyle Edwards was clearly impressed with the Three Lions, as he was spotted reacting to Kalvin Phillips on Instagram.

The Leeds United midfielder is close friends with many of the Baggies players, including Edwards, who went on holiday with a number of Elland Road stars.

Phillips posted a picture on his personal Instagram account late on Sunday, and Edwards reacted with a two-word message.

“England baby,” he wrote.

Leeds and West Brom went toe-to-toe last season in the Championship, although their fortunes have been contrasting in the Premier League.

The emergence of Phillips on the international stage is one part of the difference, with Edwards only just earning his first start in the Premier League and in months.

It is hard to imagine who out of the Baggies squad could emerge onto the England scene, with Grady Diangana likely the closest.

With massive competition out wide for the Three Lions, it is hard to imagine that will happen any time soon though.
