West Brom mainstay determined to take advantage of “Quality” at Hawthorns
West Brom defender Kyle Bartley is determined to take advantage of the quality that the Baggies possess in the Premier League.
The Albion mainstay has admitted that he needs to add more goals at the Hawthorns, making it his main objective this season.
Bartley has already scored once already in this campaign, finding the back of the net in the dramatic 3-3 draw against Chelsea.
Bartley revealed his main critic is close to home and that he is determined to score five or more goals this season in the goal of survival.
“It’s my dad, to be honest with you,” he said, via Football Daily.
“He’s always constantly on my case that I don’t score enough goals.
“It is something that I need to make sure I keep adding to my game, with the size and physique that I have, and that quality that we have from the deliveries now.
“I should be getting five, six, seven goals a season.”
Bartley has partnered Semi Ajayi this season, with the Nigerian usually the one who usually finds the back of the net.
The Nigerian scored five goals last season compared to Bartley’s couple, and if those two can hit double figures this season, that would seriously help chances of survival.
Before he gets the chance to reach his goals on the pitch, Bartley will need to fight off competition for his place in the side with Branislav Ivanovic.
The Serbian will be ready to cement his spot in the side now, and Bartley needs to continue his solid start to the season to avoid that disappointment.
