WBA Tactics: Major Brighton blow could hand West Brom upperhand on Monday

West Brom will be looking for their first Premier League win of the season against Brighton on Monday evening.

The Baggies have a full-strength squad to choose from after their promising performance in the 0-0 draw against Burnley.

A number of new faces impressed at the Hawthorns, including Conor Gallagher, Branislav Ivanovic and Karlan Grant.

Brighton will be missing their captain, Lewis Dunk for the clash.

The Seagulls skipper was sent off in added time against Crystal Palace last week for a shocking challenge on Gary Cahill and will miss the next three.

It will mean that Graham Potter will likely go with a back three of Ben White, Adam Webster and Dan Burn at the AMEX Stadium.

Where could West Brom exploit?

All three players have struggled against pace this season, and that was evident in their defeat against Manchester United earlier last month.

In this example, both White and Webster are pictured ahead of Rashford as Bruno Fernandes plays a long ball behind the very-high line.

Rashford leaves the duo for dead, but he doesn’t finish there before hitting a strike into the top corner to give his side the lead.

This could be the game plan for the Baggies, who could exploit a disorganised defence missing their captain in the middle of the three.

Matheus Pereira will be key to this.

The Brazilian will be tasked with getting on the ball deep and searching for those spaces in behind which Callum Robinson, Grady Diangana and Grant could exploit.

It has worked before for the Albion this season, who caused Chelsea all sorts of problems by running into the channels and pulling the likes of Thiago Silva everywhere.

Dunk is a massive miss, and the Baggies must take advantage of that on Monday.
