Exit of senior West Brom player to be announced within hours – report

Sunday saw the shock news that West Brom had agreed to the sale of senior defender Ahmed Hegazi.

Al-Madina have reported that the Egyptian international is set to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad in a loan-to-buy deal.

It was suggested that the two clubs already have a “broad agreement” in place for Hegazi, who can make the loan switch permanent next summer.

The deal appears to have progressed quickly this weekend.

Goal Saudi Arabia have now reported on their official Twitter account with 144,000 followers, that the announcement is expected within hours.

They claimed that Hegazi’s agent arrived in Jeddah to put the final details on the agreement, with the defender already agreeing to the move.

They suggest that the deal should be confirmed today, in a quick turn of events since Slaven Bilic claimed Hegazi was going nowhere.

Change of heart

As mentioned, Bilic claimed that Hegazi was going nowhere this week when responding to claims there was interest in his services.

There must be some decent money on the table at the end of this loan deal for Bilic and the Baggies to have changed their minds so quickly.

Hegazi partnered Branislav Ivanovic against Burnley in the 0-0 draw last week and was all-but-set to start against Brighton tomorrow.

If the move isn’t completed today, his absence tomorrow should drop a massive hint over whether or not his exit will be announced soon.
