West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi appears to be on the verge of sealing his exit from the Hawthorns.
The Egyptian international is set to join Al-Ittihad, in a move that is said to be worth up to £4million for the Baggies.
Slaven Bilic claimed that Hegazi isn’t going anywhere this week, but that appears to have changed very quickly with these negotiations.
The Mirror reported that the defender is currently the highest-earner at the Hawthorns, due to a clause in his contract from the previous spell in the Premier League.
Bilic has a number of defenders available to him including Branislav Ivanovic, Cedric Kipre, Semi Ajayi and Kyle Bartley.
It appears that Hegazi could have forced the move, which is being described as “life-changing” as he sets his sight on Saudi Arabia.
Everything about this has moved quickly over the weekend, with Hegazi even completing the 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Burnley.
His partnership with Ivanovic was certainly impressive, as they dominated the physical duo of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes.
Many West Brom fans have reacted to the news of Hegazi’s pending exit, and it appears that they are split on his future.
Some claim that the money involved makes it a no-brainer for the Albion, but some believe that his experience could have been vital in earning Premier League survival.
West Brom News have picked out some of the best reactions below…
He is overhyped, has no pace, and makes mistakes. I don’t see him as our 3rd or maybe even fourth best centre half. Take the money and run !!!!!

£4m and 70k a week off the wage bill is a no brainer for Hegazi #wba

Whatever u may think of Hegazi. Do not see the logic in having less options at this stage. #wba

Hegazi looks like he's (finally) off then. Good. Not good enough to warrant a regular place at Championship level, so clearly won't be doing so at PL level. Far too much of a defensive gambler to ever be fully trusted, despite what people on here would try to have you believe

Hegazi plays, keeps clean sheet, gets sold. Kipre is suddenly now ready? Even though I don’t rate him, are we that short of funds? It isn’t like we can reinvest at the moment.

It's the rumour that won't go away, and if he does I think it's an absolutely shocking decision.
