Exclusive: Kevin Phillips predicts WBA clash v Brighton with ‘huge player’ missing
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Phillips has backed West Brom to pick up all three points when they take on Brighton in the Premier League on Monday evening.
The Albion are currently without a win since promotion but kept their first clean-sheet against Burnley last time out at the Hawthorns.
Phillips believes that the suspended Lewis Dunk will be a massive miss for the Seagulls after his red card against Crystal Palace last week.
Phillips believes it will be a tight affair at the AMEX Stadium, but backed the Baggies to edge it on the south coast.
“I actually think they’ll do okay down at Brighton,” Phillips told West Brom News.
“I’ve actually tipped them to get a result. Especially with them losing Lewis Dunk, who I think’s a huge player for them.
“I could see them, if they can continue their performance from the other night, and create chances, hopefully, he’ll get off the mark on Monday night, and West Brom can get a result.
“I think they’ll win it by the odd goal, it could be a 1-0 or 2-1.”
Slaven Bilic will be without Ahmed Hegazi, with the Egyptian defender sealing his exit to Saudi club Al-Ittihad on Sunday evening.
That is one change that will need to be made from the draw against Burnley, with Semi Ajayi most likely set to start for the Baggies.
