‘Embarrassing’, ‘Gutted’ – Many West Brom fans react to John Percy transfer update

West Brom fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that a decision will be made on Kamil Grosicki’s proposed loan move to Nottingham Forest on Thursday.

Telegraph journalist John Percy reported via his personal Twitter account that a hearing was held on Tuesday to decide whether Grosicki, 32, will be allowed to join the Championship club after the paperwork was submitted seconds after the transfer deadline.

Grosicki has been left in limbo for the last few weeks after reportedly coming close to joining Olympiakos on the international transfer deadline and being left out of Slaven Bilic’s Premier League squad.

If Grosicki cannot join Forest, he can be added to Bilic’s squad but the Poland international has not kicked a ball for the Baggies since the win over Harrogate in the Carabao Cup in September and hasn’t been named in any matchday squads for the league since the opening day defeat to Leicester.

After seeing Percy’s tweet on Tuesday, West Brom fans are either hoping that a resolution for the ex-Hull winger can be achieved as soon as possible while some are hoping that the EFL block his move to Forest so he can play a role at The Hawthorns.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Grosicki joined West Brom in January and although he was never really a key player for Bilic in the Championship, the Polish attacker did have a role in helping Albion win promotion.

The Baggies do have a fair bit of strength in depth on the wings but many fans are arguing that Grosicki’s shown better form than Matt Phillips or Kyle Edwards have done in recent months.

That’s hard to disagree with, with Phillips struggling to impress in the Championship last season while the jury is still out for many with Edwards.

Grosicki’s a proven entity who usually offers an impact when he’s used as a substitute.

Forest fans might be able to witness that impact this season but it’s something that West Brom should have tried harder to keep for themselves.

In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips claims a “lucrative” January exit could be on the cards for this Baggies star in January.
