Athletic journalist: ‘Good chance’ WBA will look to offload high-earner in January

West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki saw his pending move to Nottingham Forest collapse on Thursday morning.

After going to arbitration, the FA rejected Forest’s appeal after they submitted their paperwork for the deal 21 seconds too late.

The Baggies have since added Grosicki to their Premier League squad, making him available for the Fulham game and further outings.

The Athletic journalist Steve Madeley has claimed that Forest could revisit this move in January, but even if they don’t, Grosicki could still leave.

Reporting on his personal Twitter account, Madeley has admitted that there is a high chance that West Brom will look to move on the winger in the next window.

It will all depend on how Grosicki performs if given the chance in the squad over the next two months in the Premier League.

Many West Brom fans have called for the veteran to be given a chance over the likes of Kyle Edwards and Matt Phillips who haven’t impressed so far.

Polish outlet Meczyi claimed on Wednesday that this deal started with Forest “outside” of the knowledge of Slaven Bilic.

After the deal that saw Ahmed Hegazi join Al-Ittihad left the Croatian fuming, it may be a silver lining that this move collapsed.

Having said that, this move regarding Grosicki and Forest has been bubbling for weeks now, and Bilic would have had more than one chance to pull the plug.

Grosicki now has a two-month audition to prove himself at the Hawthorns as a Premier League player, with the first opportunity coming on Monday against Fulham.
