‘Very disappointed’ – John Percy delivers major West Brom transfer update
Telegraph journalist John Percy has confirmed that Nottingham Forest have lost their appeal to sign West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki.
The Polish winger made 14 appearances for the Baggies last season, and appeared to be on the brink of a move to Nottingham Forest.
However, The Daily Telegraph midlands football reporter Percy said that following an arbitration hearing, the move will not go through and Grosicki will now be included in the Baggies’ Premier League squad.
He wrote on Twitter: “#nffc have lost their appeal to sign Kamil Grosicki after the arbitration hearing on Tuesday. Grosicki will now return to #wba and is to be included in their Premier League squad. Forest, understandably, very disappointed.”
On borrowed time
Despite not being able to secure a move in this window, the Polish winger’s time at The Hawthorns is unlikely to last too much longer.
Making just four starts in the Championship last season, scoring one goal and three assists, he is not a central member of the squad and faces plenty of competition for a place in the starting line-up.
West Brom had only named a 24-man Premier League squad so he has a place at The Hawthorns but we can’t see him getting any game time.
Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira have operated in wide areas so far this season and the chances are that Grosicki could be eyeing a move away this January.
However, with West Brom struggling at the bottom of the table, Slaven Bilic will need a deep squad and given Grosicki’s quality, he can contribute if given the opportunity.
