‘Of course he’s going to be included’ – Bilic ready to give West Brom player another chance

Slaven Bilic has confirmed that he is ready to welcome Poland international Kamil Grosicki back into the West Brom squad after his move to Nottingham Forest broke down.

Grosicki looked to be on the verge of joining the City Ground club on deadline day, but the paperwork wasn’t filed on time.

Forest appealed the decision, but it was rejected and Grosicki will now return to the Baggies squad and look to compete for a place in the side.

Asked whether Grosicki could still make an impact at The Hawthorns this season in the Premier League, Bilic said that he had saved space for him.

“We’re not overloaded with players,” the Croatian said (via Nottinghamshire Live).

“I said at the time why we were willing to let him go was because we had to offload some players, to bring some players in in very important positions.

“For Grosicki, it’s taken a little bit longer for his case to be resolved, or solved, but of course he’s going to be included. We saved that space for him.”

A potential difference maker

Despite appearing to be on the edge of an exit, Bilic will now have an additional option at his disposal as he bids to keep his Baggies side in the Premier League.

The 78-time Poland international made a decent impact following his January arrival from Hull City, scoring one goal and providing three assists in 14 Championship appearances as West Brom sealed promotion (via WhoScored).

Despite starting just four matches, he also averaged 0.9 key passes per match and 1.1 shots per game.

Currently, Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira are Bilic’s preferred wide men, but given Grosicki’s quality and experience, he can certainly provide an interesting option.
