Bilic names one match where West Brom weren’t good enough this season

Slaven Bilic has identified the one Premier League game this season where West Brom didn’t perform well enough.

The Baggies boss believes that Albion weren’t good enough when they lost 2-0 to Southampton in early October.

As quoted by FourFourTwo, Bilic also explained that his side need to extend their periods of good play over 90 minutes.

He said, “We are a very confident group of players and people. In every game apart from Southampton we have shown that we are good enough. We just have to stretch that period when we are playing well.”

Bilic’s quotes are certainly interesting as he suggests that in Albion’s other five Premier League games they have matched their opposition.

This was certainly the case against Burnley, Brighton and possibly Chelsea, but in the Baggies’ games against Everton and Leicester, they struggled.

There were two good Baggies goals in the Everton game and you have to remember they were down to ten men but Albion spent a good portion of that game penned into their own half defending.

Against the Foxes, the entire team gave up once the first goal went in so it’s slightly odd for Bilic to claim that Albion were ‘good enough’ against Leicester and Everton.

It is true that Bilic’s side have improved in recent games and hopefully those improvements continue into Monday night’s game with Fulham where the Baggies will look to finally get their first win of the season.
