View: Struggling West Brom ace must watch Baggies duo closely after Bilic issues plea
West Brom midfielder Romaine Sawyers has recently lost his place in the Baggies Premier League side.
The Baggies ace missed out completely in the 1-1 draw against Brighton and will be crossing his fingers over his spot for the Fulham game on Monday.
Conor Gallagher and Filip Krovinovic have both stepped into midfield, and the introduction of that duo has helped Albion going forward.
Slaven Bilic has spoken out on Sawyers’ predicament recently, challenging him to improve and recapture his form in the promotion-winning season.
The Croatian shared that he didn’t bring in another midfielder because he had one of the “best midfielders” in the league in Sawyers last season.
The 28-year-old has been among the worst performers at the Hawthorns this season when you take into account WhoScored’s average match ratings.
Sawyers makes nearly 40 less passes a game this season, and has also seen his passing success rate go down despite that, proving he wasn’t good enough.

Krovinovic and Gallagher have come into the midfield, and they have added much-needed urgency into the middle of the park.
The Chelsea loanee likes to roam around the pitch, and that has seen him pop up in vital areas – something which should see him score much-needed goals this season.
Krovinovic has taken up the deeper role, and he definitely impressed against Brighton despite it potentially being classed as a risk, given his defensive capabilities.
The 25-year-old made three tackles, two interceptions but also had two shots on goal at the AMEX – another example of that urgency that Sawyers doesn’t bring.
Sawyers needs to watch this duo closely and bring that ability into his game that would see him buzzing around the pitch, rather than just sitting deep and hoping for the best.
He must use this time to improve.
