Several 4/10s for well-beaten Baggies – West Brom player ratings v Fulham
West Brom turned in a very disappointing performance as they lost 2-0 to Fulham on Monday night.
The result means that the wait for a first Premier League win goes on for the Baggies as they dropped into the relegation zone.
Fulham opened the scoring through Bobby Decordova-Reid as Semi Ajayi left the 27-year-old free to head the ball past Sam Johnstone. Ola Aina then doubled the host’s lead with a screamer.
The Baggies improved in the second half and Bilic made some changes to try and get his team going. But Albion couldn’t find a way through as Fulham jumped above them in the table and condemned the Baggies to 18th place.

Sam Johnstone – 6
Poor positioning for Fulham’s first and he couldn’t have done anything about the second. Involved in an altercation with Decordova-Reid in the second-half which showed some immaturity from the 27-year-old. He did, however, make some good saves to keep the scoreline respectable.
Darnell Furlong – 5
Couldn’t prevent the fulham attack from sending in numerous crossed towards Mitrovic and struggled to find the Baggies attack with forward runs. A very forgettable performance from Furlong.
Branislav Ivanovic – 4
It’s perhaps harsh to criticise the Serb for not blocking Decordova-Reid’s effort but he didn’t command his defence as he did against Brighton and Burnley. He looked like the knackered defender some fans suggested he was prior to his summer move.
Semi Ajayi – 5
Really poor to let Decordova-Reid have an unmarked header to open the scoring. Ajayi and Ivanovic struggled to communicate all night and the Nigerian was bullied by Mitrovic. But there was a slight improvement in the second half.
Conor Townsend – 5
Didn’t get close enough to Mitrovic stop him assisting Fulham’s first goal and looked shell-shocked when the home side’s midfield ran at him. Panicked on the ball and never looked comfortable.
Jake Livermore – 5
Struggled to control the midfield and he was reduced to fouling fulham’s players to stop attacks. Withdrawn in the 56th minute.
Conor Gallagher – 6
Gallagher started the game slowly and struggled to hold on to the ball. He was caught ball watching for Fulham’s second and didn’t improve. Booked for a heavy challenge on Joachim Andersen but improved in the second half and was a bright spark for Albion.
Filip Krovinovic – 5
Looked to be the deepest of the midfield three but he couldn’t find many good passes as Albion’s players were quickly surrounded after receiving the ball from the Croatian. Withdrawn with 20 minutes to go.
Matheus Pereira – 4
Struggled on his 50th Baggies appearance as he had no joy on the right-hand side barely touching the ball in the first half. Subbed off in the 56th minute.
Grady Diangana – 6
Started brightly and caused problems for the Fulham defence early on. Diangana was let down by his teammates as he was getting in the right positions but he had no support. If anything was going to happen for the Baggies, it would’ve been through Albion’s number 11.
Karlan Grant – 5
Grant had little to feed off in the early stages and he missed a huge chance to pull one back for Albion but his finishing let him down. He didn’t have another chance to score in the second half.
Subs
Callum Robinson – 5
Brought on to provide some attacking support but had very little impact on the game as Albion carved out few attacks after he came on.
Romaine Sawyers – 5
Brought on to bolster an overrun midfield and booked for a wild challenge on Harrison Reed not long after coming on. Did ok on his return to the side.
Matty Phillips – 5
Did very little to improve the Albion attack in the 20 minutes he was given. Not the impact sub Bilic will have wanted.
