Many West Brom fans want Bilic outcast back in XI v Tottenham ‘if he’s over the little tantrum’

West Brom fans want to see Kieran Gibbs return to Slaven Bilic’s starting line-up for the clash against Tottenham this weekend.

Albion welcome Spurs to The Hawthorns on Sunday without a win in any of their first seven Premier League matches and increasing pressure on manager Slaven Bilic.

Gibbs, 31, hasn’t played since being sent off in the first half of the Baggies’ 5-2 defeat away at Everton in game week two.

He served his three-match ban for hitting out at James Rodriguez but was left out of the squad against Burnely despite being available and has since been used as an unused substitute.

Conor Townsend has stood in at left-back since.

The former Scunthorpe left-back had no Premier League experience before this season and many fans pointed to that position as one that needed strengthening due to Gibbs’ injury record and Townsend’s perceived lack of ability.

While Townsend hasn’t been the worst offender in West Brom’s recent matches, fans now want to see ex-Arsenal man Gibbs reinstated into Bilic’s starting line-up for the meeting with Tottenham.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Bilic has outcasted Gibbs since that red card against Everton and you can understand why because his petulance led to us getting thrashed at Goodison Park despite not playing too badly.

Bilic was quoted by the Birmingham Mail as saying “only the performance in training will get players closer” to the side when Gibbs was omitted against Burnley.

Surely, we’re past that point now and the best players must play.

Gibbs is easily West Brom’s best left-back.

In other West Brom news, Bilic could axe one player for a decisive match against Tottenham this weekend.
