Bilic shares injury update for make-or-break West Brom showdown v Tottenham
Slaven Bilic has reported that West Brom have no new injury concerns ahead of a huge match against Tottenham at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
The Athletic journalist Steve Madeley attended Bilic’s virtual press conference on Friday and relayed what the Baggies manager said via his personal Twitter account.
Bilic said that West Brom are in a “gunfight” ahead of the clash with Spurs with speculation rife about the Croatian’s future in the Albion dugout.
According to the Telegraph, West Brom chiefs will be faced with a major decision if Bilic’s side fails to perform or is beaten easily by in-form Tottenham this weekend.
The Mirror have firmed up that claim by reporting on Thursday night that Charlton manager Lee Bowyer is being earmarked as a potential replacement for the ex-West Ham boss.
Whether you’re part of the ‘Bilic Out’ brigade or not, every West Brom fan wants to see Albion get their season up and running with a surprise win this weekend.
Tottenham have been in great form so far this season with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min scoring and assisting goals for fun.
However, the Baggies don’t have the worst of records against Spurs in recent seasons having lost just two of their last 10 meetings in all competitions.
The last time these two sides met will be memorable to fans for Jake Livermore’s last-gasp winner at The Hawthorns while Darren Moore was in charge.
It gave us hope of avoiding relegation – even though that hope with extinguished not long after.
Let’s hope that Bilic can produce something similar this weekend.
In other West Brom news, Bilic could axe one player for a decisive match against Tottenham this weekend.
