Michael Owen singles out ‘huge concern’ for West Brom, predicts clash v Spurs
Michael Owen has backed Tottenham to pick up another three points in their Premier League clash with West Brom on Sunday.
Owen has claimed that the Baggies’ lack of firepower is a “huge concern” for Slaven Bilic, who could be fighting for his job soon.
The Mirror claimed on Friday that the Albion are lining up Charlton boss Lee Bowyer to replace the Croatian, so a win could be vital.
Writing in his Bet Victor predictions column, Owen believes that the Baggies will fail to score on their way to defeat.
“Spurs travel to the Hawthorns having won their last 3 Premier League matches on the road,” he wrote.
“The hosts are looking for a spark to reinvigorate their season having failed to win in their last 7 Premier League fixtures. Their lack of firepower is a huge concern.
“The Baggies have seen under 2.5 goals scored in their last 4 Premier League matches, and I think that could be their undoing here again.”
The 2-0 defeat against Fulham on Monday was the worst we have seen the Baggies this season since promotion.
It also highlighted how much of a problem the Albion have in the final third, and there is one major area that is being questioned.
Matheus Pereira was one of the best creative playmakers in the country last season, but the Brazilian is being played out wide, and that is a massive problem.
The midfielder is not getting involved in key areas for the Baggies, and he must play centrally if they stand a chance of three points against Spurs.
