Quashie delivers Twitter verdict on West Brom performance v Tottenham

Nigel Quashie has claimed that there was ‘nothing’ between his former side West Brom and Tottenham as the Baggies lost 1-0 to Spurs on Sunday.

A late Harry Kane header saw Spurs take all three points after the Baggies battled valiantly all afternoon and looked set to secure a point.

On Twitter, Quashie said that Albion deserved something from the game and described his former side’s performance as “excellent”.

Quashie highlighted that Kane was the difference between the sides and dubbed him ‘the best striker in the Premier League’ while encouraging Albion to perform again in their next league outing.

Sam Johnstone could be the man who cost Albion the points after failing to collect Matt Doherty’s cross for Harry Kane. The West Brom keeper was caught in two minds as Kane headed over the 27-year-old.

This result leaves the Baggies in the relegation zone for the international break and things don’t look great when the Premier League returns as they face a tricky trip to Old Trafford.

A point against a strong Tottenham side would’ve given everyone at The Hawthorns a huge lift going into the two-week break, but now that familiar feeling of disappointment will be lingering.

While it was a much-improved performance, football is a results-based game and Slaven Bilic’s side aren’t getting results. But, due to the improvement in performance pressure may be eased on the Baggies boss after some fans were calling for him to be sacked earlier in the week.

Once again Albion fans are left thinking ‘what if’ after yet another disappointing defeat in a game where the Baggies should have taken something.

In other West Brom news, some Baggies fans were blown away by one Albion player’s performance against Tottenham.
