View: Did West Brom copy Man Utd’s manager magic trick v Spurs?

After last week’s performance against Fulham most West Brom fans expected precious little from their side’s game against Tottenham on Sunday.

Despite the 1-0 loss courtesy of a late Harry Kane header, Albion were exceptional and certainly deserved something from the game.

Some would argue that the Baggies answered their critics with their gutsy performance but we would argue the opposite.

Most Baggies players played brilliantly and as stated previously, they deserved something from the game. This begs the question, where on earth has this Albion team been all season?

There is no doubt that if West Brom had played as they did against Spurs in their earlier games this season they wouldn’t find themselves in the desperate predicament they currently find themselves in.

Fulham would’ve been blown away by the Baggies side that took to the field on Sunday. This has led us to believe that perhaps we are seeing something similar to what seems to be happening at Manchester United at the moment.

Every time it looks as if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to get the sack, United go out in the next game and play out of their skin and restore some faith. They did just that this weekend by beating Everton after losing to Istanbul Basaksehir in midweek.

Bilic’s safety as Baggies boss was called into question after the fulham loss and in the next game, while not getting the result, Albion turned in a massively improved performance.

With their manager’s job potentially on the line the Albion players stood up and attempted to convince Baggies fans that they were capable of competing in the Premier League.

Sunday’s game had all the hallmarks of those United games where every player turns up and contributes to a good victory, saving their manager’s job for at least a few weeks.

If this performance can be repeated then Albion will have a decent chance of staying up. Ironically the Baggies face Man United next time out in the Premier League.

The Red Devils are yet to win at Old Trafford this season and if Bilic’s side play as they did against Spurs you can’t rule out Albion getting something.
