Broadcaster shares letter he’s sent to PL over West Brom ownership mystery
Radio host Adrian Goldberg has revealed what he wrote in a letter to the Premier League about the on-going mystery surrounding West Brom’s ownership.
Last week, former Birmingham Mail journalist Chris Lepkowski told The Liquidator podcast that financial documents from Orbis show that the ownership of West Brom is now under Ms Yasha Ge and not Guochuan Lai.
Albion have been rather cryptic in their responses when questioned about the state of the club’s ownership and Goldberg is now awaiting answers from the Premier League on the matter.

“I wrote to the Premier League on October 8,” said Goldberg on the latest episode of The Liquidator podcast. “I said ‘this is urgent’, by the way.
“I said: ‘I’ve got some documents suggesting that the holding company of West Bromwich Albion FC, Yunyi Guokai of Shanghai, is now 59 per cent owned by Ms Yasha Ge. This has not been communicated to supporters who believe that Guochuan Lai is still the owner. Do you have any information about this? Has Ms Yasha Ge applied for, and passed, the owners’ and directors’ test?’ I said: ‘A swift response would be appreciated’.
“I’ve heard nothing from the Premier League.”

Whether the relevant people at the Premier League have even read Goldberg’s letter remains to be seen but this is something for the club to answer first – otherwise, they’re going to be made to look very stupid.
Kevin Phillips has exclusively told West Brom News that the club risks turning into a “circus” if something like this isn’t clarified as soon as possible and added that governing bodies would have done something if a change in ownership would have happened.
A lot of West Brom fans will be unaware of what Lepkowski and Goldberg have found and that really doesn’t sit right with us.
It’s not right that fellow supporters have no idea about a massive change has taken place behind the scenes.
And it’s especially not right that Shareholders 4 Albion, who own 12 per cent of the Baggies, are totally unaware and are also being shafted by the club.
Something really stinks here. Why can’t the club come out and explain what is happening?
Our guess is that the club has as much clue as we do about Lai’s business and were equally as baffled as us when they saw Lepkowski and Goldberg’s findings.
