Report details big update on Guochuan Lai control over West Brom after speculation
Guochuan Lai is still the owner of West Brom despite financial data gathering company Orbis saying that Ms Yasha Ge is in control, according to the Express & Star.
Chris Lepkowski and Adrian Goldberg, via The Liquidator podcast, had been doing a lot of digging over the last month to find out who actually owns West Brom after Orbis’ data suggested that Ge had taken over from Lai.
However, Express & Star journalist Joseph Masi now reports that Orbis’ information is incorrect and West Brom have contacted the Belgium-based company to tell them so.

Who is Ms Yasha Ge then?
Masi reports that she “recently became a director at Shanghai Yunyi Investment”, a partner of Yunyiye Investment Company and Yunjin Investment Company which are owned by Lai.
Ge is affiliated, in a way, with Lai. But not in a way that concerns West Bromwich Albion Football Club.
We’re glad there is some kind of clarity on this but West Brom were not exactly helpful when they were contacted by radio host Goldberg and the Shareholders 4 Albion group.

Goldberg revealed on The Liquidator podcast last week that West Brom told him: “You can only understand when you go back and look at the documents in China.” Of course, Goldberg and Lepkowski couldn’t do that.
Albion were then asked to send those documents they mentioned but failed to respond.
This week it emerged that, S4A, who own a 12 per cent stake in the club, asked the club to clarify the ownership situation but the S4A chairman said to be “castigated in a legal letter sent to S4A by the club” for hand-delivering a letter for chief executive Ke Xu (also known as Ken).
Why the secrecy? Why not inform Lepkowski, Goldberg and S4A with some actual real information before letting speculation run wild?
Even though there hasn’t been a change of ownership, it’s still laughable how the club has managed this.
In other West Brom news, Peter Odemwingie delivered his verdict on Bilic in the defeat to Tottenham.
