West Brom captain Jake Livermore has heaped praise on Conor Gallagher after a string of fine performances from the Chelsea loanee.
Gallagher has arguably been Albion’s best player in their last two games against Tottenham and Fulham.
The Chelsea loanee has been effective going forward and equally solid while tracking back and his captain can’t praise Gallagher enough.
Livermore is quoted by Metro as saying, “Conor’s been fantastic for me. His energy levels and quality in training every day is a steal for us and I’m tipping him to be a top, top player.
“He wants to learn and has great ability going forward, but on the flip side he’s more than responsible at tracking back and he’s just got bags of energy.
“The athleticism that he’s got is what the game is becoming now and he’s got that in abundance. He’s been very impressive and I think he can be a really important player for us this season.”
While Albion are yet to pick up a win this season Gallagher has been one of the few positives that Albion fans can be excited about.
He has already improved since his summer move from Chelsea and it is clear to see why the Blues want to have such a talented young midfielder on their books.
It will also do him no harm to learn from Livermore on the training ground. Albion’s captain has plenty of experience and it seems as though he is more than happy to help Gallagher improve his game.
It also seems that Albion play better when Gallagher is playing well which means Livermore’s comments about how important the 20-year-old is to the Baggies season could be fairly accurate.
Albion have a long way to go if they are to stay in the Premier League this season but as long as Gallagher is in the team and playing well they have a chance of survival.
In other West Brom news, a Baggies attacker has been tipped to leave The Hawthorns in January.
