‘Shock’, ‘Waste of space’ – Many WBA fans react to major Masi update on Guochuan Lai

Guochuan Lai is still the registered owner of West Brom despite rumours suggesting otherwise, according to the Express and Star.

Financial data gathering company Orbis had claimed that Ms Yasha Ge had taken control at the Hawthorns from Lai recently.

Journalist Joseph Masi has shut them down and contacted them to inform them of their mistake after he saw registered documents on Tuesday.

Yasha Ge has “recently became a director at Shanghai Yunyi Investment”, a partner of two companies owned by Lai, Masi confirmed.

So, the duo does have some sort of partnership, but it doesn’t go as far as them both being involved at the Hawthorns.

Shareholders 4 Albion, who owns a 12% stake in the club have written to the board to clarify the ownership situation this week.

A different story regarding the ownership of Lai appears to pop up every single month, and it always seems to raise different questions.

Tensions between China and the United Kingdom have risen, and Athletic journalist Steve Madeley even claimed that Lai selling the club is more likely after promotion to the Premier League.

Many West Brom fans have reacted to the latest twist at the Hawthorns, claiming that this confusion doesn’t surprise them one little bit.

Despite having some sort of clarity over the situation, Albion fans have called for Lai and whoever else is involved in his team to leave the club as quickly as possible.
