Gallagher: This is what Bilic said in dressing room after last-gasp West Brom defeat v Spurs
Conor Gallagher has said that Slaven Bilic was “very, very positive” after West Brom lost at the death in the Premier League clash with Spurs.
West Brom matched Tottenham before falling to a headed goal from Harry Kane in the final minutes of the clash.
The result has kept West Brom in the bottom three over the international break but it hasn’t killed the spirit at the club.
“He [Bilic] was happy and very, very, positive,” Gallagher said, as quoted in the Express & Star.
“Of course, everyone was disappointed we didn’t get the result.
“But he said to keep our heads high, we played well and we have to take confidence from it.”
There are still reports circling around about Bilic losing his job before the next game against Man United.
The latest is from the Daily Mirror, who claim that the club’s owners are still to decide whether to get rid of him now or give him more time.
Given the game against Spurs and how he reacted afterwards, we’d be very surprised if anything happened before the Old Trafford game.
We think this is the time that everyone at the club needs to pull together and work on getting West Brom out of the mess they’re currently in.
Staying in the Premier League is so important this season of all seasons, with EFL clubs in a mess because of the Covid-19 crisis.
There are plenty of poor sides in the Premier League and West Brom are still only one point off safety.
If the Baggies defence had just held out for a few more minutes we’d be praising Bilic and his side would be out of the bottom three.
It’s fine margins in the Premier League but this is the time to come together.
