Slaven Bilic confirms return to training for West Brom ace missing since October

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic has confirmed that Hal Robson-Kanu has returned to training after breaking his arm back in October.

The Welsh international has been missing since the 2-0 defeat against Southampton, although he continued after suffering the initial knock.

Karlan Grant has arrived since, with Bilic only having him and Callum Robinson as his striking options since in the Premier League.

The Athletic journalist Steve Madeley relayed information shared by Bilic on Thursday, with Sam Field also close to a return.

Based on this, Robson-Kanu won’t be back immediately though, with his training still limited to non-contact as he looks to keep up his fitness.

“Aside from Covid tests, Hal Robson-Kanu is back in training, albeit still limited contact, as he recovers from his broken arm, and Sam Field not far away from returning,” he wrote.

Neither will feature at Old Trafford, but it will be a big boost for the Baggies to have both back available over the busy Christmas period.

Robson-Kanu has spoken out this week and admitted that he was taking “small steps” in his rehabilitation.

The 31-year-old claimed that he has only just been able to clench his fist properly, meaning that despite being back in training, it will be at least a couple of weeks before he returns.

Looking at the bench from the defeat against Spurs, the Albion had no strikers available and brought on three different wingers.

Now playing two up-front, Bilic will be crying out for another striker on the bench and he isn’t too far away from that.
