‘Different gravy’ – Some West Brom fans raves about ‘Player of the season’ after club tweet

West Brom fans have heaped praise on Conor Townsend after the club tweeted about the 27-year-old’s impressive recent displays.

Townsend hasn’t missed a minute of football since starting against Chelsea in October’s 3-3 draw at The Hawthorns.

He initially came in to replace the suspended Kieran Gibbs but he has since made the position his own with a string of solid performances.

The stats show that Townsend has been performing well too.

According to Wyscout, Townsend has won 65.9% of his defensive duels this season which is more than the 55.6% of defensive duels that fellow Baggies defender Darnell Furlong has won so far this term.

The 27-year-old made a whopping nine interceptions against Manchester United in Albion’s last game as he performed well against a dangerous Red Devils attack.

Some Baggies fans have replied to the club’s tweet and they agreed that Townsend has been in impressive form with some declaring him West Brom’s player of the season so far.

Here is how some Baggies fans reacted to the club’s tweet.

Baggies fans will be hoping for another strong performance from Townsend if he lines up against Sheffield United on Saturday in what could be a vital game for Albion.

In other West Brom news, plans for fans to return to the Hawthorns have been put on hold according to a reliable journalist.
